Great fix for our office chairs May 28, 2014
Reviewer: Tim "Grumpy Geek" from Medford, OR USA
This isn't my first purchase of this item, and I'm sure it won't be the last. I work in an office with a lot of desk chairs, and many of them are getting old. Not to say they're ready to toss, but when the lifts failed, that's what they used to do. This little thing does the trick: fix the chair and keep it out of the landfill, and keep the boss happy with the low cost and reliability.

Fits Perfect, Easy to Replace! April 23, 2014
Reviewer: R. Duncan from SC USA
This was super easy to install. Used the hammer and pipe wrench method to remove the old one. The Rolland cylinder fits perfectly and seems more solid than the original. Would highly recommend this to fix the sinking chair syndrome prone to strike inexpensive chairs from office supply chains.

No more po-go chair! April 18, 2014
Reviewer: Christine Christopher from Thonotosassa, Florida United States
I am so happy with this purchase. It arrived in two days, it fit (much to my surprise as I wasn't sure what I had as far as dimensions) and my chair now stays UP !!!!!! I wish there was some instructions but I found a lot of sites with the instructions on how to remove the cylinder (watch your toes). All in all I am very happy with this purchase. PS the price was right too.

Great Replacement March 13, 2014
Reviewer: jtoth
The gas cylinder in my office chair started leaking about a year ago. I have been fed up with it since then but I wasn't sure how 'universal' a replacement would be so I put off buying it. I finally gave in a purchased this item, and I am glad I did! Replacing the cylinder was easy (assuming you have a rubber mallet and a pipe wrench, and maybe some WD-40). Just use the mallet to knock the base of the chair (with the wheels) off of the bottom of the old cylinder, and then lock the pipe wrench onto the silver part of the cylinder and turn it clockwise and counterclockwise (rock back and forth) until it breaks free. Then slide in this new replacement and put the chair base back on. Easy, and fixed! Now my chair doesn't leak! This is a high quality item.

Life Has It's Ups & Downs February 19, 2014

After a number of years my favorite office chair would not maintain its seat level due to the original gas cylinder no longer being able to function consistently. It was quite frustrating working at my desk and then suddenly have that sinking feeling. The Roland replacement came to the rescue. The "hard part" was taking out the chair's original cylinder (which required a few hammer blows to loosen) but after that the Roland replacement installed quickly and easily. So far I have experienced absolutely no issues with it retaining whatever height I set it to, and it even has a greater height range than the original cylinder had. Very satisfied, but the real test is how long will it last? The original lasted about 3-4 years, so I'll have to wait and see...
